Smart Doc boosts process reliability
A marvel of engineering is taking shape in Horb in Baden-Württemberg in the south-west of Germany. To relieve the town of through traffic, work began in 2018 to build a 70-metre-high bridge across the Neckar valley. Ensuring the best possible compaction of access tracks and work platforms are two HC 200i compactors from Hamm.
View of the Rauschbart construction area with its challenging steep terrain.
In the area around the district of Rauschbart, six terraced work platforms and the tracks for the construction vehicles are currently being built at a layer thickness of 45 cm. The terrain is steep and challenging, and the standard of compaction required on the substrate is high; after all, the foundations of the eventual bridge piers will be constructed on these terraces. That’s why the construction company responsible opted for two compactors from Hamm.
