Worldwide first Kleemann jaw crusher MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 put into operation

Recycling GmbH Lahnau processes natural stone and rubble, including large volumes of concrete. The new MC 110(i) EVO2 is to be used in both areas. "We were already very satisfied with the predecessor model from 2017. What impressed us most with the new machine were the crusher jaws that open automatically in case of overload", Ralph Lang, Technical Manager of Recycling GmbH Lahnau, names the main reason for the investment.

Highlight: automatic overload detection

In case of short-term overloading at selected points, the new overload system of the MC 110(i) EVO2 automatically opens the crusher jaws already after 2 seconds, which is significantly faster than before. The system then positions the gap back to the previously set values. Damage to the crusher is thus effectively avoided. This also means that the crusher produces aggregate in a constant quality.

"We will use this crusher in natural stone and in rubble recycling. Thanks to this function, large single parts do not usually cause any damage", says Daniel Weis, who is responsible for mobile processing and recycling plants at Recycling GmbH Lahnau. "Overall the output of the MC 110(i) EVO2 is thus clearly higher than the predecessor model – and all this combined with lower fuel consumption", explains Christoph Obalski from Wirtgen Germany Sales.

Lower noise emissions

A lot has also changed in the area of noise emissions: thanks to a new ventilation concept independent of the output, the plant is quieter. The EU Stage V engine in combination with the direct drive guarantees a comparatively low noise development. Both have a positive effect on employees as well as the environment. "Noise protection has become extremely important", reports Ralph Lang. "In urban areas, on account of noise emissions now and then we only receive an operating permit for 2 hours a day. Quieter machines can be operated for longer periods accordingly, which also increases the daily output. In short: the excellent key data of the MC 110(i) EVO2 with regard to noise helps us with the operating permit."

Self-explanatory operation

The menu-guided operation, easily recognisable visualisation of the process with help, status displays of all components, such as speed or temperature, and the automated support with error-tracking and diagnosis make it easy for operators. Daniel Weis agrees with this: "With the SPECTIVE operating system for devices in the EVO2 series, Kleemann has once again considerably simplified operation."

Several cameras are also integrated: one monitors the feed hopper, another the crusher. The image can be viewed at the operator panel and is also transferred per WLAN to an external camera, which can be positioned, for example, in the excavator. This view of the interior of the crusher makes operation easier and material processing safer.

Kleemann takes another step forward with SPECTIVE CONNECT: "The system is used by the crusher to send data on the operating status per app to my smartphone", explains Daniel Weis. "I therefore always have the status of the operating hours and fuel consumption at a glance and can arrange, for example, for more diesel fuel in good time."

Very flexible to use

Kleemann has reduced the transport height for more flexibility during crusher transport. It is now only 3.40 m high compared to 3.60 m. "In spite of this, the space under the crusher is as generous as it was before – this is good", states Daniel Weis.

Highly trained team

In conjunction with the handover, instruction and training of the machine operators was carried out by a Service technician from the Wirtgen Group. Furthermore, Recycling Lahnau GmbH also appreciates the further training offer for operators of their plants: "Our employees attend a training course from Wirtgen Group once a year. They always find it very informative and benefit from the exchange of information with employees of other companies", explains Daniel Weis.

The training courses are a module in the comprehensive service offer from Wirtgen Deutschland Vertriebs- und Servicegesellschaft. The rapid and competent support of the spare parts team is just as important. "Required components are delivered quickly and reliably and arrive exactly where we need them", says Ralph Lang. And he should know: the currently delivered MC 110(i) EVO2 is the ninth plant from Kleemann since the founding of the company in 1998.
