From pioneer to WIRTGEN GROUP
An unusual success story began in November 1961. Reinhard Wirtgen, at the time only 20 years old, is brimming with energy and goes into business for himself as a freight forwarder with just one truck.
Now, around 60 years later, the one-man business has grown into the multinational WIRTGEN GROUP, a corporate group of machine manufacturers. It offers a wide range of solutions for road construction and surface mining.
1961-1969: Pioneer and Entrepreneur
