The simple service and maintenance concept, coupled with the intuitive operating concept, makes the new HC CompactLine series a great choice for rental service providers too.
With its new HC CompactLine series, Hamm presents a selection of small compactors featuring drive technology, a comfortable cab and compact proportions.
The new machines weighing 5 to 7 t replace the compactors from the H CompactLine series and meet the latest exhaust emission standards of EPA Tier 4/EU Stage V. They offer an impressive combination of high gradeability, improved driving properties and a comfortable, spacious cab. This makes the five models of the HC CompactLine series – HC 50i, HC 50i P, HC 70i, HC 70i P and HC 70i VIO – extremely easy to operate and provides an ergonomic workstation for operators. All this makes the small compactors an ideal choice for machine rental too.
With a drum width of 1.37 m and 1.68 m respectively, the HC 50i and the HC 70i offer versatility for use in both earthworks and landscaping operations. Permanent all-wheel drive with anti-slip control and wheel motors instead of a rear axle ensure exceptional gradeability, as well as high ground clearance. The development team at Hamm has also further improved and stabilized the handling with various adjustments to the chassis.
The HC 50i and HC 70i small compactors are intuitive to operate and feature language-neutral operating elements. The logical arrangement and clear symbols on the operating elements make every action and adjustment straightforward. The backlit display prevents operational errors even in the dark, while the positioning of the steering wheel allows a clear view of and easy access to the dashboard. As an optional extra, a camera system with a monitor can also be integrated. High-quality LED work lighting (included as standard in the versions with cab) light the way whatever the lighting conditions.
The generous space offered by the completely redesigned cab is unparalleled in this market segment. Operators benefit from an ergonomic seat system and a seat that can be moved sideways, plus windows that open wide and draught-free ventilation. There are also plenty of storage areas, an optional USB connection and comfort options to choose from, such as a tiltable steering column and an air-conditioning system.
The design provides a clear view of the machine and its surroundings.
The compactors are powered by a cutting-edge Kubota engine, compliant with EPA Tier 4/EU Stage V, delivering 55.4 kW of power; for the North American market, Hamm offers additional models with a 54 kW Deutz engine. The machines can run on either diesel or fuel from hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO). The sustainable machine design of the HC CompactLine also includes ecological and resource-saving operation in ECO-Mode, which is sufficient for most applications in earthworks and in gardening and landscaping – without compromising on compaction power. In addition, the optional automatic engine stop reduces fuel consumption, taking into consideration the requirements of exhaust gas cleaning with diesel particulate filter (DPF).
Maximum 3 m tall: Each of the models in the HC CompactLine series is available with the choice of a ROPS/FOPS cab, an open ROPS platform with FOPS protective roof, or an open ROPS platform and protective roof (without FOPS).
Hamm offers the new HC CompactLine series of small compactors with a choice of smooth drum (HC 50i, HC 70i and HC 70i VIO) or padfoot drum (HC 50i P and HC 70i P) with vibration. Two-part padfoot shells can be retrofitted for the smooth drum. The HC 70i VIO features a smooth drum that can compact with either vibration or oscillation. All of our HC CompactLine models can also have a levelling blade added to them. The wide choice of models and options gives customers and operators the flexibility they need to perform at their best in a diverse range of jobs in the earthworks and landscaping sectors.
The simple service and maintenance concept, coupled with the intuitive operating concept, makes the new HC CompactLine series a great choice for rental service providers too.
All models in the HC CompactLine series are available with a Hamm Compaction Meter (HCM) – even rollers with VIO drums. The displayed Hamm measurement value provides a gauge for the compaction progress. For applications where continuous compaction control (CCC) or area-wide or layer-by-layer documentation is needed, Hamm has developed the Smart Doc app for Android (available free from the Google Play store).
