New Kleemann compact crusher impresses in recycling

The latest addition at E&F Recycling GmbH in Nordhorn close to the Dutch border is the mobile impact crusher MOBIREX MR 100i NEO. The new development from Kleemann is used there for recycling concrete and mixed rubble – an innovative machine that can be used flexibly, quickly and in a variety of ways thanks to its compact dimensions.

Wouter Fahner, Managing Director of E&F Recycling GmbH opted for maximum quality when purchasing a new impact crusher. “The solid construction and promising technical innovations of the new Kleemann impact crusher won us over straight away”, says the entrepreneur who was introduced to the machine at Steinexpo 2023. The MOBIREX MR 100i NEO is characterised by its robust design and high flexibility. Although the crusher on the site in Nordhorn is hardly being moved at the moment, the entrepreneur definitely sees potential in the new plant for his customers' changing locations. The compact design also makes it possible to deploy the mobile impact crusher in very limited space conditions.

High user-friendliness and safety

A real innovation: The impact crusher is equipped with the innovative “Lock & Turn Quick Access”. The system enables the crusher housing to be opened quickly and without tools. Opening and closing of the crusher takes only 30 seconds and is carried out practically at the push of a button. This not only makes access for maintenance work easy – for example, if bridging needs to be removed or rotor ledges need to be replaced. This also significantly improves operational safety and efficiency. “The Lock & Turn Quick Access system represents real progress. It enables us to carry out maintenance work much more quickly and safely. This saves us valuable time, especially in the hectic everyday life of recycling, ensures smooth operation and increases safety for our operators,” emphasises the entrepreneur.

Simple and safe Gap setting and detection of overloads

A further highlight of the MR 100i NEO fully hydraulic gap adjustment and overload system. Gap adjustment and zero-point determination are carried out with millimetre precision at the press of a button – manual measuring, loosening of screws and final positioning are no longer necessary.

The overload system ensures that the machine is protected against serious damage, even with uncrushable material such as large iron parts. If it is triggered, the pressure plate breaks, allowing the rocker to move out of the way. This effectively protects the rotor, the rocker and the crusher housing. “In such a case, the pressure plate must be replaced, but this is much cheaper to do than repair damage to the rocker or crusher itself”, explains Wouter Fahner.

Simple handling thanks to SPECTIVE CONNECT

Operation of the plant with SPECTIVE CONNECT is very user-friendly via a smartphone. Important functions such as the crushing gap setting, troubleshooting and, in future, production data for the belt scale, can be viewed remotely via the app. This means that even less experienced employees can quickly familiarise themselves with the plant and operate it safely. “Handling of the machine is really a big plus for us. With our previous small impact crusher, it was much more difficult to make settings, let alone have a digital solution that gave us such extensive insight into machine data and so on.SPECTIVE CONNECT is a real benefit here”, says the Managing Director happily.

Quality and performance are in demand

In order to separate lightweight material from the crushed material, E&F Recycling GmbH uses the optional wind sifter. This makes it possible to increase product quality and reduce time-consuming sorting work.

And the people at E&F Recycling are also very satisfied with the plant performance. The compact crusher produces approx. 150–200 tons an hour. The crusher mainly processes mixed rubble to a size of 0–45 mm and concrete to 0–45 mm. Thanks to the belt scales installed on the discharge conveyors, the high production is also visible.

Successful cooperation

On the premises of E&F Recycling GmbH, around 100,000 tons of material are processed every year – a real challenge for the new plant. This was the reason that the company thoroughly scrutinised their choice of new equipment. After initial discussions at Steinexpo, the Managing Director visited the Kleemann plant in Göppingen to see the quality for himself. Apart from the positive impressions on site, the good advice and support provided by the Kleemann experts from Wirtgen Deutschland, Claus Gedecksnis, was also decisive. The company also places a high value on the proximity to the Wirtgen Deutschland location in Northern Germany. This makes it easy to order wear and spare parts, and a service technician is also quickly on hand in the event of problems.

Further Kleemann plants impress

The Kleemann concept impressed the Managing Director so much that, in addition to the MR 100i NEO, he also acquired a mobile stacker MOBIBELT MBT 24i. This enables him to optimise his work site logistics. This saves an unnecessary number of wheel loader trips and is therefore also good for the wallet.

The machine fleet at E&F Recycling also includes the mobile scalper MOBISCREEN MSS 802i EVO. In addition to recycling, this all-rounder is also used a lot for soil treatment – often directly on the customer's premises.

The entrepreneur is also already looking forward to further Kleemann additions: at the Nordbau trade fair, he acquired a further scalper, the MOBISCREEN MSS 502i EVO. This will also be used for soil treatment in the future.
