Resource conservation and digitalisation are major talking points of our time, the world over. At the same time, the requirements for compaction quality and documentation are increasing. Plus, it is becoming increasingly difficult for construction companies to recruit personnel qualified to operate rollers and other construction machines. Further to that, the generation of ‘digital natives’ will soon be getting behind the wheel of road construction machinery. They are well versed in handling digital solutions. It is against this background that HAMM has in recent years been developing various assistance systems, solutions and digital interfaces in the Smart Compaction product family, all centred around simple yet intelligent compaction.
