The Wirtgen trainees began the day with milling
The trainees and instructors from Wirtgen arrived at the event a day earlier in order to get through the extensive programme of challenges and tasks. After a guided tour of the Kleemann plant, the next item of the programme was a visit to a construction site at the former Kleemann factory in Faurndau. Here, the participants received their instructions and were assigned their tasks for the following day. By arrangement with the new owners, the task ahead of them was the rehabilitation of a run-down car park in need of repairs.
The trainees received professional support during the milling work at the site. Practical tips and advice were given not only by the instructors, but also by technicians from the brand headquarters and employees from a local construction firm. The mood on-site was great from the start
The key tasks of the main day on the site were milling, asphalt paving and compaction
The trainees from the other companies arrived in the course of the day. After the obligatory factory tour and a visit to the construction site, everyone came together in the evening to prepare themselves for the challenges of the main day on the site.
The new day began with the completion of the remaining milling work. All trainees were given the chance to operate each of the machines on-site to get a hands-on impression of the handling. This phase of the project was followed by asphalt paving and compaction. The mutual support and collaboration was impressive – and the instructors were always at hand to answer any questions the trainees had.
