Pave Assist Plus: Installation and relocation made easy

With Pave Assist Plus, VÖGELE takes the strain off site teams by allowing paving-relevant settings to be saved and called up again. Moving a Dash 5 paver between construction sections is also automated thanks to the assistance system.

Before starting work or when changing construction sites, users normally have to reset each paver and screed value manually – even if construction projects are similar. That costs time and slows you down. To assist with such routine tasks, VÖGELE has already developed AutoSet Plus for its Dash 3 generation. With the introduction of assistance and automation solutions in the WIRTGEN GROUP, this becomes the Pave Assist Plus solution for the VÖGELE Dash 5 generation.

Quick and easy paver adjustment with Pave Assist Plus

Pave Assist Plus already contains three preset parameters: data for the installation of a base, binder and surface course. In addition, a user can automatically adopt settings already used with Pave Assist Plus as a new programme on the display of the paver operator’s console and adjust them if necessary. They include values such as the paving width, paving speed, tamper stroke and other machine settings relevant to paving. They can be called up later simply and quickly with just a few button presses.

The paving settings for a base, binder and surface course are available from the outset as part of the Pave Assist Plus assistance system.

On the paver operator’s console, settings already in use can also be adopted as a new programme with Pave Assist Plus.

Preparing for changeover

Press the Execute button after switching from installation mode to “Changeover” mode. This automatically raises the distribution auger, the hydraulic hopper front flap and the deflectors in front of the crawler tracks to the top position. The screed and to point rams are also set to transport mode.

Ready for changeover

The paver is ready for transport after just a short time. Hydraulically locking the screed in this position and briefly reversing the scraper belts prevent mix from falling off during transport.

Settings are restored

After changeover, the operator switches back to the installation access. Then press the Execute button to return everything to the original working position. This allows the operator to continue working with the identical settings.

Near Bern, an SUPER 1900-5(i) installed a noise-reduced surface course over a total length of 6 kilometres and a width of 20 metres. Pave Assist Plus was one of the tools used.
