We are searching for a

Field Service Engineer

to join the WIRTGEN team. Applicants located in the southeast/southwest U.S. corridor (TN,OK,TX,AR,NE) are preferred.


The purpose of the Field Service Engineer’s role is to plan and coordinates installation of equipment, preventing potential operational difficulties by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs new or modified equipment at customers’ facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Provides a communication link between the dealer and company to ensure effective service is provided.
  • Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and dealer representatives.
  • Inspects product to determine nature and scope of problem and escalates to the Technology Manager as needed.
  • Provides on-site technical assistance by diagnosing issues with machines out in the field.
  • Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine the source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to customer needs always striving to provide a high level of service.
  • Performs software updates and field campaigns on machines in the field or at dealer location when needed.
  • Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including team members, customers, and dealers.


Education/Experience & Skills:

  • Technical or associate degree or a minimum of five years’ experience in heavy equipment industry.
  • Ability to understand Hydraulic and Electrical components and schematics.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair heavy equipment electrical issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
