The demands on cutting tools for environmentally friendly cold recycling and effective soil stabilisation are extremely varied. Important, amongst other things, are high cutting performance, extreme impact resistance and particularly high resistance to wear. With the new, hard-wearing Generation Z² round-shank picks, Wirtgen sets new standards in terms of durability, safety and cost-effectiveness.
The newly developed wear plate with a special grooved profile improves centring, and demonstrably optimises rotation behaviour. This ensures that the carbide tip is always ready to cut and guarantees best possible carbide utilisation.
In addition, the grooved profile reduce longitudinal wear of the round-shank pick holder and extends service life by up to 25%.
To ensure permanently secure clamping of the pick in the pick holder, Generation Z² picks all feature the field-proven TwinStop clamping sleeve from Wirtgen. The optimised composition of the carbide tip with a high proportion of cobalt guarantees even higher resistance to the most extreme impact loads.
Wirtgen sees high saving potentials for users in the further development of its innovative cutting technologies. The perfect interplay of machines and high-performance cutting tools is an essential factor in the maximisation of efficiency in daily on-site operations. The use of the new Generation Z² round-shank picks further increases operational reliability. In addition, higher machine utilisation rates and higher productivity reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.
