In cutting and milling, it is crucial to remove layers at the prescribed height. The intuitive WIRTGEN LEVEL PRO / LEVEL PRO PLUS leveling technology delivers highly precise conformance to cutting and/or milling depth. The high-tech leveling system developed in-house at WIRTGEN is fully integrated into the control system of the overall machine.
LEVEL PRO / LEVEL PRO PLUS continually adjusts the momentary cutting or milling depth to the preset target value. If the system finds deviations, they are corrected dynamically by proportional control. The actually produced depth is determined by probing with optical or mechanical sensors in comparison to a reference surface.
New, easy-to-use operating concept LEVEL PRO ACTIVE
The new LEVEL PRO ACTIVE leveling system especially developed for cold milling machines and featuring innovative operating panels is intuitive and easy to operate. Fully integrated into the machine control system, it enables a high degree of automation because important machine functions are directly linked to each other, guaranteeing precise milling results. In addition, LEVEL PRO ACTIVE offers a simple and field-tested 3D system interface with the 3D kit.
New additional and automatic functions
The LEVEL PRO ACTIVE leveling system offers many automatic and additional functions that make the operator’s job easier. All of the connected sensors are displayed and can be selected on the control panel. This also speeds up work processes. This means the entire machine can be lifted quickly and easily to drive over a manhole cover, for example.
The machine's height is adjusted by the lifting columns of the front and rear chassis, and all chassis are hydraulically coupled. If one of the chassis rides over a bump or a recess, the resulting height difference is automatically compensated by the three other chassis. This principle of quadruple oscillation is used by the machine to automatically adjust its position in reference to the ground, and stability is improved noticeably.
Closely related to this is the PTS (Parallel to Surface) system, which is integrated into the automatic leveling system. During the milling process, the machine is aligned to be parallel to the surface, and it assists the driver in positioning the machine into the milling track.
The integrated automatic positioning function makes it possible to lower all of the suspensions to the desired target depth simultaneously at the push of a button. In this process, the milling drum penetrates into the material slowly. It is no longer necessary to manually adjust the rear suspensions to maintain a working depth accurately. At the same time, machine operation is much easier.
