SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The machine training videos are intended only as a supplement to the instruction manual for your WIRTGEN machine and the WIRTGEN safety manual.

The instruction manual for your WIRTGEN machine and the WIRTGEN safety manual contain detailed operating and safety instructions and should be followed at all times. These manuals are an important part of the entire machine.

These training videos does not relieve you of the following responsibilities:

  • Reading and understanding the instruction and safety manuals.
  • Following the instructions set forth in these manuals.
  • Training your fellow workers before working with or on the WIRTGEN machine to which they apply.

Here you will find some videos that explain important functions and components of the WIRTGEN PERFORMANCE TRACKER (WPT).

Overall system

General presentation of the overall system

The WPT – WIRTGEN PERFORMANCE TRACKER uses a laser scanner to measure the cross-sectional profile to be milled. Surface milling performance and milling volume are then precisely measured using GPS positioning and other sensors. The machine operator can continuously track the most important information in real time on the control panel’s display. Afterwards, a report with all of the relevant performance and consumption data is generated automatically and made available to the machine user.

Explanation of important functions and settings on the machine and their effects on the report

Job name: Set a job name/number which is then displayed in the report e-mail and report.

Main application: By setting the main application, the density is set automatically. Using the main application, the accounting clerk in the office can allocate the milled surfaces more easily.

Material density: If the density is known, it can be set exactly here. This makes the calculated truck load more accurate.

Drum & pick type: The set drum and pick type is documented in the report.

Truck signal thresholds: An acoustic signal is given if the calculated truck load reaches the set signal thresholds.

Marking of routes with difficulty on the machine (e.g. milling along a curb) and evaluation in the report.

If certain conditions are met, the machine automatically determines a downtime that is displayed on the machine and in the report.

Manual completion of a job / construction site by the operator or automatic completion by milling on a new construction site. After completion, the WPT report is sent automatically.
