Our building progress
Take a look at how the construction of our exhibition stand is progressing.
November 2018
05.11.2018, Munich Trade Fair Centre - Groundbreaking ceremony! The WIRTGEN GROUP moves in.
With a total area of 12,960 square meters, the green meadow becomes the WIRTGEN GROUP's largest trade fair stand ever!
Surveying, planning and grading: Site manager Dieter Kick, the planning committee of Messe München and the construction team with their heavy equipment ensure that every planned centimeter becomes reality. Construction activities in sunshine - that's not the way it should stay for the next few weeks...
December 2018
Two-dimensional becomes three-dimensional. The trade fair stand grows in height.
Within a few weeks, the three-storey main pavilion of the WIRTGEN GROUP grew out of the ground. 18 meters high – easy to find even from a distance. From a shell to a piece of art: The futuristic building will be the contact point for our visitors and, in addition to an exciting special presentation on WIRTGEN GROUP Customer Support, will for the first time include a walk-in fan shop. Plan your visit now!
In addition to the main pavilion, the Technology Centers of the five WIRTGEN GROUP product brands and John Deere's Technology Center have already taken their place. Each brand will focus on a specific theme on approximately 100 square meters and will supplement the exhibits with in-depth information on the WIRTGEN GROUP and John Deere technologies.
January 2019
The onset of winter in Munich. Our construction team defies!
Masses of snow and temperatures far below freezing make construction work on the exhibition grounds difficult. The construction team of the WIRTGEN GROUP exhibition stand concentrates on the interior design of the main pavilion.
Working behind the scenes: The cables and hoses – the veins of the building – find their way into the ceilings and walls of the main pavilion. For example, matching the drop in temperature, the air conditioning and heating technology is being mounted.
At the end of the month, the main pavilion takes on its final shape. The next step: Close the angled front.
In the meantime the second level of the outdoor area is created. The construction of the skywalk begins.
At a height of 5 meters the 330 meter long tour will offer an exciting view over the exhibition stand and all exhibits. WIRTGEN GROUP SmartSynergies personified: Everything from a single source at one glance!
BENNINGHOVEN arrives, measures and assembles. The first exhibit has already taken its place. And the transportable asphalt mixing plant type ECO 1250 lives up to its name. In less than a week the plant in container design is completely mounted.
February 2019
Hard work and a lot of movement indoors as well as outside.
The second exhibit is moving in. The transportable asphalt mixing plant type ECO 3000 – the “big sister” of the ECO 1250 – has taken its place and is now towering over the 16.5 meter high ECO 1250, surmounting it by another 11 meters. But that's not all. The highest exhibit of the WIRTGEN GROUP stand followed a few days later. The transportable asphalt mixing plant TBA 4000 is almost 32 metres high and definitely worth a visit! Our BENNINGHOVEN experts will be at your side at the foot of the plants to give you advice and practical support.
The completion of the outer facade of the main pavilion is in its final stages. The front, which is inclined at an angle of 22 degrees, is a constructional challenge that pays off. It not only looks spectacular from the outside – from the inside it will offer a perfect view of the WIRTGEN GROUP exhibits.
The Skywalk is also close to completion. The basic structure of the Skywalk already encompasses the entire exhibition stand. Tons of steel were used to build the skeleton for the skywalk and for the running surfaces almost 800 square meters of wooden planks were used.
Everything takes shape on the outside and inside the main pavilion. The construction team and their heavy equipment are doing a great job! A total of more than 100 craftsmen, gardeners, landscapers and WIRTGEN GROUP service technicians will be working on the exhibition stand and the exhibits until April 8, doing everything they can to ensure the perfect WIRTGEN GROUP experience at Bauma. Of the 21 weeks of construction time, 16 have been completed. That means: Final spurt in March!
March 2019
Cue the lights! The stars of the show are taking the stage.
BENNINGHOVEN has led the way – the other WIRTGEN GROUP product brands and John Deere are now following suit. More and more exhibits from WIRTGEN, VÖGELE, HAMM, and KLEEMANN are joining BENNINGHOVEN’s asphalt mixing plants.
And things are getting more colorful at the trade show booth: John Deere is bringing a fresh new hue to the world of the WIRTGEN GROUP at Bauma. The yellow machines from the Construction & Forestry division are a real eye-catcher, but that’s not all – Bauma 2019 in Munich is John Deere Construction Equipment’s European debut!
In addition to its product range, the WIRTGEN GROUP will be presenting its entire spectrum of solutions and services above and beyond its machines in several special presentations. For example, one special presentation will showcase WIRTGEN’s expertise in cutting technology for cold milling, recycling, soil stabilization, and surface mining. The main structure has already been assembled!
We highly recommend you come and take a look. With the latest GENERATION X² of picks for cold milling machines and the new WCC cutting tools for soil stabilizers, WIRTGEN is bringing some genuine technological innovations to market.
