High compaction power and surface output, fuel-efficient operation
Roller manufacturer Hamm launches six new tandem rollers with operating weights of between 9 and 11 t at Bauma China. The new models comply with China’s MEE IV exhaust emission standard and offer an impressively high compaction power and surface output, as well as fuel-efficient engine technology and numerous equipment options.
The HD 98i–HD 118i tandem rollers, which are powered by a 95 kW Cummins engine, are now available with a choice of two vibration drums (VV), vibration and oscillation drum (VO) or as a sales variant with a vibration drum and a set of wheels (VT). This range of options ensures users benefit from efficient and high-quality compaction. Particular attention must be drawn to the many benefits of oscillation, which guarantees a fast rate of compaction and at the same time is suitable for use in vibration-sensitive areas. It also effectively prevents particle crushing and over-compaction and offers the option of dynamic compaction even when outside temperatures are low.
Hamm endeavours to deliver excellent fuel economy in all its tandem rollers and compactors. On the new HD tandem rollers, the HAMMTRONIC machine management system and an efficient ECO Mode contribute to a notable reduction in diesel consumption without compromising on compaction power. Consequently, the engine meets the requirements of the current Chinese exhaust emission standard MEE IV. Using HAMMTRONIC to control important functions also ensures quiet operation, smooth acceleration and braking, as well as fewer operator errors. The built-in LED lighting as standard ensures optimum visibility.
The new models can be fitted with either a cab or a protective roof. What’s more, there are many other configuration options, such as the Hamm Compaction Meter (HCM), the Hamm Temperature Meter, LED drum edge lighting, an edge pressing and cutting device or even a camera system for added safety during construction site applications. Also available is a process data interface for third parties for continuous transmission of process-relevant data, such as compaction values or temperature readings.
The workspace of the new tandem rollers has an ergonomic design. Equipment options such as the new ROPS cab with optional heating and air-conditioning system allow users to tailor the model to their own requirements. All service points are easily accessible whenever needed, ensuring the model is always kept ready for operation.
